Our beautiful and well cared for Jeanneau Sunshine 38, based in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, available for day trips to Dia island and nearby beaches, and also for multi days cruises to the Cyclades islands (Santorini, Paros, Milos etc.) and the Dodecanese (Astypalaia. Rodos, etc.)
Under sail, Sun Shine 38 has excellent directional stability. The yacht's steering allows not one degree of deflection, rough water is tossed aside by the fine water entry; unruffled, her superb hull makes unwavering headway in perfect equilibrium.
Please note that the rental of the Boat without a skipper is only possible when rented over a minimum of 3 days. If you rent the Boat for 1 day or only half-day a Skipper will be obligatory.

We had a really great time with Giannis on the sailboat Christina. Giannis (John) is a true gentleman and accom4plished sailor, he took very good care of us during our 3 day trip and showed us some amazing places, we also had the pleasure of his cooking as we opted for half board. We had plenty of sailing but also time to stop for a snorkel and to enjoy a delicious meal. He is well able to sail the boat single handed but is also very patient and will explain things and let you play a part. He has many years of sailing experience and knows both the boat and waters around Crete VERY well. Our safety and comfort were always priority for him and I recommend him entirely. Giannis is great company, he will tell you all about life on Crete (he is also an olive farmer and if you are lucky you will get to sample his olive oil and fresh produce) but he will also take himself off with his book and give you some family time. Thankyou Giannis for a truly wonderful and unforgetable experience!

Sehr schöne Tour, Giannis ist einfach ein herzensguter Mensch, ein sehr guter Koch und vor allem ein super Segler! Geht sehr gut auf die Bedürfnisse ein, ist flexibel wenn irgendwie möglich. Wenn man etwas über das Segeln lernen will, teilt er sein Wissen - wenn man still genießen möchte, macht er das ebenso möglich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir hatten einen grandiosen Segeltag mit Skipper Giannis. Ich bin noch Segelanfänger mit Sportbootführerschein "See" und Giannis hat mir alles erklärt, mir jede Frage beantwortet und mich fantastisch betreut und gecoached. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von ihm begrüßt und die ganze Zeit gut betreut. Das von ihm selbstgekochte Essen mit Zutaten und Obst aus der eigenen Farm war sehr lecker. Wir hatten viel Spaß und haben uns an Bord sehr wohlgefühlt. Alles war blitzsauber und top gepflegt. Das Boot war in einem 1A-Zustand. Er hat sehr viel Segelerfahrung und ist mit seiner Segelyacht Christina sehr zu empfehlen! Wir werden wieder bei ihm an Bord gehen und mit ihm segeln. Danke für den schönen Tag, den wir an Bord der SY Christina verbringen durften!

Really great experience! It was our first time with the kids (3 and 8 years old). John did everything he could to adapt the experience of sailing to the kids. They loved it! Even if we had a strong wind and even if it was freezing. Bravo!
The boat was nice and comfortable. We had 2 days and a night. We could discover very nice coves around heraklion and sailing the other part of the journey.

We rented Christina bareboat for 4 days. Giannis is charming & has tended his boat with love. She is old but in great condition & sails well. She was built before some modern conveniences but experienced sailors will be very happy onboard.
We stayed in Milatos & Agios Nikolaos marinas as she must be charged every 2 days.
Spinalonga was a highlight & Milatos is so peaceful we stayed twice.

Yannis is an excellent host and sailor.
He has a keen eye for when to be present. He has excellent knowledge of Crete and of the world in general. The trip was adjusted day to day to the group’s needs and wants.
The boat and equipment are older, but very well taken care of and clean.
All in all I would definitely recommend Yannis to take you out on a trip short or long.

Captain John (aka Giannis) was the perfect holiday skipper. He helped us create a feasible voyage and rolled with the punches when various events outside his control (wind or the lack thereof among other things) necessitated on the fly adjustments. He was friendly, knowledgable, patient, and accomodating. Hope to be back next summer so we can sail to Dia Island and beyond with Captain John.
